Michigan Department of Education shall develop or select recommended model instructional content and materials about ethnic, racial, and minority groups including women, African Americans, Arab and Chaldean Americans, Asian Americans, Native Americans, and Latino Americans.

School districts and public school academies are encouraged to adopt the recommended instructional content and materials as part of their existing social studies or civics curriculum.

Department of Education serves as a central clearinghouse making the recommended instructional materials available to schools throughout Michigan.

Each intermediate school district shall designate a liaison to help constituent districts access the recommended model instructional content and materials.

The act takes effect 90 days after enactment.
