Requires petroleum motor fuel pumps at roadside retail locations equipped with customer payment card scanning devices to include security measures preventing unauthorized access to card information.

Mandates security measures include one or more of the following: pressure-sensitive security tape over the scanning device panel, a device that renders the pump inoperable if opened without authorization, encryption of customer payment card information, or other department-approved measures.

Owners or agents receiving written notice of noncompliance must correct the violation within 5 days; failure to comply allows the department to prohibit pump use until proper security measures are installed.

Defines "customer payment card" as credit or debit cards used to initiate electronic fund transfers or billing, and "scanning device" as equipment that accesses or stores information from card magnetic strips.

Effective date: October 1, 2017.
