MI HB5920

Establishes a 7-member board of managers for the Michigan veterans' facility, with each member demonstrating knowledge in public health, business, or finance.

Requires board membership to include representatives from the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans, and one other congressionally chartered veterans' organization, plus three veteran members appointed by the governor with senate consent.

Members serve 3-year terms and may be removed by the governor for misfeasance, malfeasance, or nonfeasance, including missing 3 or more consecutive meetings.

Defines "veteran" as an individual who meets the definition in 1965 PA 190 and was honorably discharged, and specifies "Michigan veterans' facility" as a long-term care facility for veterans and dependents, excluding facilities defined under the Michigan veterans' facility authority act.

Takes effect 90 days after enactment and is contingent upon passage of a related bill (tie-barred to HB 5919 or SB 1100).
