MI HB6002

Amends Michigan's Code of Criminal Procedure sentencing guidelines (MCL 777.11b) to add 24 felonies to the sentencing classification system, effective only if House Bill 6001 or a Senate bill is enacted.

Adds identity-related crimes including unauthorized disclosure of LEIN information (Class F), false statements on state ID applications (Classes E, D, C with escalating penalties up to 15 years), and counterfeiting/forging state ID cards (Classes D and E with penalties up to 10 years).

Includes firearms-related offenses such as false statements on pistol license, pistol sales record, concealed pistol permit, and concealed firearm certificate applications (all Class F, 4-year maximum).

Adds public safety violations including false reports of public threats and child abductions (Class F, 4 years), firearm sales without required safety equipment (Class G, 2 years for third offense), and Michigan Fireworks Safety Act violations (Class E for serious impairment, 5 years; Class C for causing death, 15 years).

Includes sex offender registration violations with escalating penalties: failure to register (Class F first offense 4 years, Class D second offense 7 years, Class D third offense 10 years) and failure to update registration information (Class F, 2 years).
