MI HB6022

Amends the definition of "involuntary statement" in 2006 PA 563 to specify that such statements must be truthful information provided by law enforcement officers when compelled under threat of dismissal or other employment sanctions by their employer agency.

Defines "law enforcement agency" to include the Department of State Police, Department of Natural Resources, and law enforcement agencies of counties, townships, cities, villages, airport authorities, community colleges, and universities responsible for crime prevention and criminal law enforcement.

Defines "law enforcement officer" to include persons trained and licensed under the Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards Act (1965 PA 203), local corrections officers as defined in the Local Corrections Officers Training Act (2003 PA 125), and emergency dispatch workers employed by law enforcement agencies.

Takes effect 90 days after enactment into law.
