Michigan veterans affairs agency shall form a special internal task force named the Michigan Veterans' Suicide Prevention Task Force by December 1, 2017.

Task force shall investigate causes and prevention of suicides among returning Michigan military veterans and prepare a comprehensive public report of findings.

Task force consists of 8 members: one each appointed by house speaker, house minority leader, senate secretary, and senate minority leader; one representative from Michigan veterans affairs agency; one from department of military and veterans affairs; and two from department of health and human services.

Member appointed by house speaker serves as chair; task force members serve without compensation and Michigan veterans affairs agency provides administrative support.

Task force shall submit comprehensive report with legislative recommendations to house and senate by December 1, 2018, and shall dissolve after presenting its report.
