Declares September 15-October 15, 2016, as Hispanic Heritage Month in Michigan, coinciding with the national observance period.

Recognizes the economic, cultural, and social contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans, including achievements in law, religion, agriculture, art, music, education, technology, architecture, cuisine, and exploration.

Acknowledges Michigan's significant population of Spanish and Latin American descent citizens who contribute to the state's economy and society.

Encourages all sectors of the state to honor and commemorate the independence anniversaries of Latin American and Caribbean nations during this period.

Directs transmission of the resolution to state officials and representatives of the Hispanic community as recognition of the high esteem in which Hispanic ancestors and descendants are held by the Michigan Legislature.
