House Resolution 380 honors Representative Joel Johnson upon conclusion of his tenure in the Michigan House of Representatives representing the Ninety-seventh District.

Johnson graduated from Michigan State University and previously worked as a farm owner and operator in Clare County, manager of Johnston Elevator, and served as president of the Clare Area Chamber of Commerce.

Johnson was elected to the Michigan House in 2010 and served a six-year tenure, chairing the House Committee on Workforce and Talent Development focused on job creation and economic development.

Johnson represented Michigan on the National Conference of State Legislatures' Labor and Economic Development Committee for 2015-2016 and previously served on the Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee.

House directs transmission of the resolution to Representative Johnson as recognition of his service and contributions to the legislative body.
