House Resolution 398 is a tribute to the Honorable Harvey Santana recognizing his service in the House of Representatives representing the Ninth District.

Santana served in the United States Navy as Petty Officer Third Class, participating in Operation Desert Shield/Operation Desert Storm, Bosnia, Somalia, and Haiti.

He earned a bachelor's degree in political science and master's degree in public administration from Eastern Michigan University and worked as an urban planner before his legislative service.

Santana served as minority vice chair of the House Appropriations Committee during the 2015-2016 session and previously chaired the Military and Veterans Affairs Committee and Joint Committee on Administrative Rules.

The House commends Santana for his bipartisan efforts and contributions to the state, with a copy of the resolution to be transmitted to him.
