Senate Bill No. 15 - Michigan Firearms Freedom Act

• Creates the Michigan Firearms Freedom Act to exempt firearms, firearms accessories, and ammunition manufactured and retained within Michigan from federal regulation under the interstate commerce clause.

• Declares that firearms, accessories, and ammunition manufactured entirely within Michigan using basic materials are not subject to federal law or registration requirements.

• Allows use of generic and insignificant parts (springs, screws, nuts, pins) imported from other states without subjecting the final product to federal regulation.

• Requires all firearms manufactured or sold under this act to be clearly stamped with "Made in Michigan" on a central metallic part such as the receiver or frame.

• Excludes from the act's protections: firearms that cannot be carried by one person, firearms with bore diameter greater than 1.5 inches using smokeless powder, ammunition with projectiles that explode after leaving the firearm, and firearms that discharge multiple projectiles with one trigger activation.
