Senate Bill 345 Summary

• Allows specially designated distributor and merchant license holders to own and operate motor vehicle fuel pumps on or adjacent to licensed premises under specified conditions.

• In neighborhood shopping centers with at least 50,000 square feet of retail space, applicants must maintain minimum inventory of $250,000 (excluding alcohol and fuel) and locate alcohol sales at least 5 feet from fuel pumps.

• In townships with population of 7,000 or less, applicants must maintain minimum inventory of $12,500 and obtain township approval via resolution.

• Creates secondary location permit allowing specially designated merchants to sell beer and wine at subsidiary locations with motor fuel pumps, subject to $100 application and renewal fees and commission approval.

• Takes effect 90 days after enactment, contingent on Senate Bill 344 also being enacted into law.
