Local health departments must immediately furnish necessary care to individuals with serious communicable diseases or infections, including tuberculosis and sexually transmitted infections, regardless of domicile, and issue an order authorizing such care.

HIV infection and acquired immunodeficiency syndrome are explicitly excluded from the requirements in this section.

Local health departments must promptly report actions taken under this section to the county department of human services of the individual's probable place of domicile.

Financial liability for care rendered under this section is determined in accordance with part 53 of the Public Health Code.

The act becomes effective July 4, 2016, and is contingent on the enactment of Senate Bills 374, 375, 377, 378, 379, 380, and 381 of the 98th Legislature.
