Extends Good Samaritan liability protections to licensed EMS providers (medical first responders, EMTs, EMT specialists, and paramedics) who render emergency care without compensation at emergency scenes.

Protects physicians and physician's assistants performing sports fitness examinations without compensation from liability except for gross negligence, willful and wanton misconduct, or acts outside their license scope, provided they obtain a signed disclosure form.

Shields healthcare providers who render emergency care to individuals injured during competitive sports (K-12 schools and charitable organizations) from liability except for gross negligence or willful and wanton misconduct.

Applies emergency care protections in hospital settings to licensed EMS providers responding to life-threatening emergencies, except when the provider has an existing patient relationship with the individual.

Effective date: February 28, 2016.
