Water suppliers serving public or nonpublic schools must collect and analyze water samples from drinking water faucets at schools at least annually for lead and copper presence, following existing sampling and analysis methods.

Analysis results must be provided to the Department of Environmental Quality and to each school served.

The department must post on its website the sampling and analysis results for school water sources and an assessment of drinking water infrastructure serving schools.

Creates the Safe Schools Drinking Water Task Force within the department, composed of 7 members: one department representative, three members appointed by the Senate majority leader, and three members appointed by the Speaker of the House.

Task force shall meet at least quarterly, review water sampling protocols, and recommend changes to protect public health; task force is automatically disbanded 5 years after the effective date.

Bill takes effect only if Senate Bills 725 and 726 are also enacted into law.
