Department of Corrections must house prisoners aged approximately 18 to 22 years old only with other prisoners in the same age range, unless specific circumstances prevent it.

Young prisoners aged 18 to 22 must be housed in the same correctional facilities across the state, unless specific circumstances prevent it.

Facilities housing these young prisoners must provide youth rehabilitation programming to the extent possible, with the department consulting circuit court family division administrators for recommendations.

Department must submit annual reports to the senate and house corrections committees detailing implementation of the housing requirements.

The act takes effect 90 days after enactment into law.
