Modifies school district transportation requirements by changing language from "subject to the balance of this section" to "except as otherwise provided in this section" and updates grammatical phrasing throughout.

Removes the requirement that a pupil must be "a person for whom the school district is eligible to receive state school aid for transportation" as a condition for receiving transportation services.

Retains existing exemptions allowing school districts to not transport pupils living within 1-1/2 miles of school by the nearest traveled route, with special provision that districts must still transport nonpublic school pupils from nearby public schools to their nonpublic schools.

Maintains exemption for transporting pupils to out-of-district nonpublic schools unless the district already transports pupils to out-of-district public schools, in which case it must transport nonpublic pupils at least to the same distance and general direction.

Takes effect 90 days after enactment.
