Designates July 3-9, 2016, as Aquatic Invasive Species Awareness Week in Michigan

Encourages all citizens to increase understanding of aquatic invasive species and their environmental and economic impacts

Calls on citizens to take preventative measures to stop the introduction and spread of aquatic invasive species

Notes over 180 nonindigenous aquatic species are established in the Great Lakes Basin, displacing native species and costing millions annually in control efforts

Directs transmission of the resolution to the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality, Michigan Department of Natural Resources, Great Lakes Fishery Commission, and other relevant state and federal agencies
