Designates July 15, 2016, as Leiomyosarcoma Awareness Day in Michigan to raise public awareness of this rare and aggressive cancer of smooth muscle tissue.

Acknowledges that leiomyosarcoma (LMS) affects 6 out of every 1 million people and is highly resistant to chemotherapy and radiation treatment.

Recognizes the Leiomyosarcoma Direct Research Foundation and the National Leiomyosarcoma Foundation for their efforts to develop treatments and improve quality of life for LMS patients.

Encourages Michigan residents to share their stories and experiences using #lmsarcoma on social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.

Expresses support for patients, families, caregivers, and medical professionals working to understand, treat, and cure leiomyosarcoma.
