Department of Health must develop or approve informational materials on cytomegalovirus within 90 days of the bill's effective date to educate women who may become pregnant, expectant parents, and parents of infants.

Materials must include incidence rates, transmission methods, birth defects caused by congenital cytomegalovirus, diagnostic methods, testing opportunities, preventative measures, and early intervention services.

Department shall post all required information on its Internet website.

Department may solicit assistance from medical associations, community resources, and faith-based organizations to promote cytomegalovirus education.

"Health care provider" includes individuals licensed under article 15 and health facilities or agencies licensed under article 17 of the Public Health Code.
