At least 80% of sexual assault victims' medical forensic intervention and treatment fund money must be distributed to entities operating under or in partnership with local sexual assault crisis centers that provide specialized victim assistance and 24-hour medical forensic services.

Entities receiving the 80% distribution must perform sexual assault evidence kit procedures in compliance with International Association of Forensic Nurse Examiners standards or similar standards designated by the board in consultation with the department of health and human services.

Not more than 15% of fund money may be expended for medical forensic intervention training, technical assistance, and needs assessment.

Not more than 10% of fund money may be expended for the board's administrative costs in implementing and administering the act.

The board must distribute grants and contracts considering population, geographic area, and rural and urban diversity; conduct annual audits; and report income and expenditures to the legislature by February 1 each year.
