Amends Michigan's unemployment compensation law to clarify confidentiality rules and data sharing procedures for unemployment agency information.

Allows unemployment agency to share wage and benefit information with qualified agencies administering child support, food stamps, Medicaid, AFDC, and other public benefit programs for eligibility verification and fraud investigation purposes.

Permits data sharing with educational institutions and Michigan Works agencies for research, program evaluation, and workforce development when proper written agreements are in place and individual identities are protected.

Expands unemployment agency authority to enter into reciprocal agreements with other states and federal agencies for coordinating unemployment benefits and collecting contributions from multi-state employers.

Takes effect July 1, 2018.
