Amends the Corrections Code of 1953 to add Section 80 establishing inspection requirements for prison kitchen facilities managed by private contractors or staffed by non-state employees.

Prison kitchen facilities managed by private contractors or where food is prepared or served by non-state employees must be subject to inspection consistent with the Food Law (2000 PA 92, MCL 289.1101 to 289.8111).

Private contractors managing prison kitchen facilities or employing workers at such facilities are responsible for paying the costs of inspections conducted by local health departments or the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.

The act takes effect 90 days after enactment and is contingent upon the passage of either Senate Bill No. ____ or House Bill No. 5065.
