Prohibits Michigan public school districts and schools from sponsoring or permitting race- or ethnicity-based mascots, nicknames, logos, slogans, chants, songs, publications, uniforms, signs, or visual materials beginning January 1, 2019.

Requires the state board of education to create and distribute a list of prohibited race- or ethnicity-based classifications within 6 months, developed in consultation with and approved by the Michigan Department of Civil Rights.

Allows districts or schools to obtain a waiver to use otherwise-prohibited race- or ethnicity-based descriptors if they receive written consent from the appropriate racial or ethnic organization or group listed by the state board.

Authorizes the state board to periodically review and revise the prohibited classifications list in consultation with the Department of Civil Rights, with notification to all districts and schools.

Requires forfeiture of state school aid funds for districts or schools that fail to comply, though the department must provide notice and allow districts up to 12 months to request delayed forfeiture if they submit a written compliance plan.
