Legislative bodies may revoke commercial rehabilitation exemption certificates if rehabilitation is not completed within the authorized timeframe or if the certificate holder fails to operate the facility in good faith consistent with the act's purposes.

Certificate holders may request revocation of their own commercial rehabilitation exemption certificate by certified mail to the local governmental unit's legislative body, which may approve the revocation by resolution.

Revoked certificates may be reinstated by the commission if the original holder or a subsequent owner requests reinstatement, the local legislative body submits a resolution of concurrence, and the facility continues to qualify under the act.

The act takes effect immediately upon approval, effective June 28, 2018.
