Requires the Department of Health and Human Services to work with contracted health plans to establish and maintain a uniform credentialing process for medical assistance providers.

The department must consult with medical services providers when creating the credentialing process and ensure it streamlines requirements for individuals providing medical services through contracted health plans.

Mandates that managed care providers offering medical services to state medical assistance recipients comply with the uniform credentialing process once certified by the department director.

Requires the department to submit a report to the legislature within 6 months of the effective date and annually thereafter describing activities and any revisions to the uniform credentialing process.

Exempts managed care providers in regions served by fewer than 2 health plans from compliance requirements for 3 years after the law takes effect, while preserving each health plan's responsibility for credential verification and provider approval decisions.
