• Specifies that the advisory board consists of 9 members: one department employee with environmental and occupational health expertise, the state geologist or designee, one department employee with water resources expertise, one local health department representative, and five registered well drilling contractors and pump installers appointed by the governor with senate consent.

• Requires that four of the five private sector board members be well drilling contractors, with one representative from each of four geographic regions (Upper Peninsula, northern Lower Peninsula, southeastern Lower Peninsula, and southwestern Lower Peninsula).

• Modifies terminology and clarifies procedures for board organization, including election of a chairperson, quorum requirements of five members, and compliance with the Open Meetings Act (1976 PA 267).

• Takes effect 90 days after enactment.
