Department of Human Services shall develop and implement a work requirements program as a condition for receiving medical assistance under the Social Welfare Act, with participation based on the recipient's or applicant's ability to participate as determined by the department.

Work requirements program may include a combination of paid work, volunteer work, or education.

All eligible medical assistance recipients and applicants must be participating in the work requirements program by September 15, 2019.

Department shall apply for a federal waiver immediately upon enactment if required to implement the work requirements provisions.

Act takes effect 90 days after enactment into law.
