Health insurers delivering, issuing, or renewing policies with prescription drug coverage in Michigan cannot deny refill claims for 90-day supplies of maintenance prescription drugs based solely on the end of calendar year timing.

Refusal to cover the 90-day supply is prohibited only when the prescription meets all prior authorization requirements specific to that maintenance drug at the time of the refill request.

Coverage denial protection applies only if the remaining duration of the insured or enrollee's coverage extends at least 90 days from the refill request date.
