Limits testing frequency to once every 4 years after initial installation and testing, unless the backflow preventer has been repaired or the sprinkler system includes a chemical injection system.

Clarifies language in existing provisions regarding waterworks system design, operator certification, and drinking water standards.

Changes "assure" to "ensure" and "and which" to "that" for grammatical consistency throughout the statute.

Takes effect 90 days after enactment and is contingent upon passage of House Bill 5755 or a Senate Bill companion measure.
