Requires school districts and public school academies to include a program of instruction in free enterprise and entrepreneurship in grade 8 social studies curriculum beginning in the 2019-2020 school year.

Allows schools to include free enterprise and entrepreneurship instruction in other subject areas and grade levels beyond the grade 8 requirement.

Mandates the Department of Education develop or adopt model programs by June 1, 2019, including "Michigan's Entrepreneurial Spirit," covering business vocabulary, entrepreneurs, goal-setting, business basics, and student business plan creation.

Requires model programs to be project-based and teach at least: business vocabulary (entrepreneurship, free enterprise, business finance, goods and services, innovation), global entrepreneurs, action activities including goal-setting, business basics (taxes, business owner skills, product/service ideas), and student project-based business plans.

Amends Section 1278 to require state board recommended model core academic curriculum content standards for grade 8 social studies include the free enterprise and entrepreneurship program described in the bill.
