Prohibits persons convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence a second or subsequent time from possessing, using, transporting, selling, purchasing, carrying, shipping, receiving, or distributing firearms for 3 years after paying all fines, serving all imprisonment terms, and completing all probation or parole conditions.

Prohibits persons convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence a second or subsequent time from possessing, using, transporting, selling, carrying, shipping, or distributing ammunition for 3 years after meeting the same conditions as firearms restrictions.

Persons convicted of specified felonies face 5-year prohibitions on firearm and ammunition possession that require both satisfaction of sentence conditions and restoration of rights under MCL 28.424.

Violations of firearm or ammunition possession restrictions are felonies punishable by imprisonment for not more than 5 years or fines not exceeding $5,000, or both.

Exception excludes convictions that have been expunged, set aside, or pardoned unless the expunction, order, or pardon expressly prohibits firearm or ammunition possession; takes effect 90 days after enactment.
