HB 6146 Summary

• Department must annually prepare and submit by February 1 a report identifying the 50 employers with the highest number of employees receiving medical assistance.

• Report must be submitted to legislative leadership, appropriations committees, and health policy committees, and made available on the department's website.

• Report must include employer name and address, employer size, number of medical assistance recipients who are employees, number who are spouses or dependents, whether health benefits are offered, and state cost of providing benefits.

• Report must also identify whether the employer offered health benefits to medical assistance recipients and how many such employees received those benefits.

• Report cannot include individual recipient names and must comply with privacy standards under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act; department may establish interagency agreements to collect necessary information.

• Effective 90 days after enactment.
