HB 6315 Summary

• Adds new subsection (13) exempting public innovative districts and schools operating under MCL 380.1173 from minimum pupil instruction day and hour requirements in subsections (3) and (8).

• Renumbers former subsection (13) to subsection (14) and requires the superintendent to review waiver standards in pupil accounting manuals at least every 2 years beginning in 2013 to ensure appropriateness for changing online learning trends.

• Requires the superintendent to solicit and consider stakeholder input as part of the biennial waiver standards review.

• Takes effect 90 days after enactment, contingent on the enactment of House Bill 6314 (tie-bar provision).
