Prohibits insurers from rating, canceling coverage, or refusing to issue or renew home insurance policies based solely on the presence of a service animal in the household.

Creates an exception allowing insurers to take action against service animals with a documented history of aggression toward individuals or domestic animals.

Defines "service animal" by reference to 2015 PA 146, MCL 37.301, and "domestic animal" by reference to the Animal Industry Act, 1988 PA 466, MCL 287.703.

Applies to home insurance policies issued or renewed on or after the bill's effective date.

Classifies discrimination against service animals in homeowners insurance as an unfair method of competition and unfair or deceptive practice under Michigan's insurance code.
