Law enforcement must provide crime victims written information within 24 hours of initial contact, including emergency services availability, victim compensation benefits, prosecuting attorney contact information, and instructions for arrest/release notifications.

For assaultive crime victims, law enforcement and prosecutors must provide oral and written information about mental health and substance abuse treatment services and crime survivor trauma recovery centers within 24 hours and 7 days respectively.

Prosecutors must provide victims written notice within 7 days of defendant's arraignment detailing criminal procedure steps, victim rights, compensation eligibility, threat procedures, and contact persons for further information.

Courts must provide assaultive crime victims oral and written information about mental health services and crime survivor trauma recovery centers at conviction or sentencing.

Legislation takes effect 90 days after enactment and is contingent on passage of House Bill 6388.
