Municipal corporations may contract to furnish lawful municipal services outside their corporate limits, including heat, power, and light, with the amounts determined by the utility's governing body.

Electric delivery service is limited to areas that were contiguous to the municipal corporation as of June 20, 1974, or areas already being served by the municipal utility as of that date.

Retail sales of electric generation service are restricted to the same geographic areas as electric delivery service (contiguous areas or areas served as of June 20, 1974).

Municipal corporations cannot provide electric delivery service outside their corporate limits to a customer currently receiving or having received service from another utility within the previous 3 years without written consent from the serving utility.
