Requires the written contract between agents to specify the extent of authority and mandate maintenance of professional liability insurance (errors and omissions insurance)

Prohibits this arrangement for health insurance policies and health maintenance contracts

Requires insurers to file notice of appointment for insurance producers within 15 days of executing an agency contract or receiving first application, with director verification within 30 days

Insurance producers cannot bind coverage for an insurer unless appointed by that insurer; producers not acting as agents of insurers are not required to become appointed
