MI HB6590

Requires employers with one or more full-time employees to grant employees up to 2 hours of paid leave per election day to vote if they do not have 2 continuous hours off while polls are open.

Employees must provide proof to their employer on a secretary of state-prescribed form that they voted or attempted to vote.

Prohibits employers from taking retaliatory personnel action or discriminating against employees for exercising voting leave rights.

Allows employees to bring civil actions against employers for violations and recover either actual damages or $500 per violation, whichever is greater.

Takes effect 90 days after enactment.
