Designates April 26, 2018, as Stop the Bleed Day in Michigan to raise awareness about bleeding control measures and trauma response.

Recognizes that more than 180,000 people die annually from traumatic injuries caused by motor vehicle crashes, falls, accidents, natural disasters, and mass casualty events.

Notes that trauma is the leading cause of death for individuals under age 44 and the fourth leading cause overall, with preventable blood loss being the most common cause of death before emergency responders arrive.

Promotes training the public in bleeding control techniques using pressure or tourniquets, which military experience has shown reduces hemorrhage-related deaths.

Encourages Michigan citizens to become trained and equipped to perform immediate bleeding control and supports equipping public places with bleeding control kits.
