Extends best wishes to Muslims in Michigan, the United States, and worldwide for a meaningful observance of Ramadan, observed from approximately May 15 to June 14, 2018.

Recognizes Ramadan as the holy month in which the Holy Quran was revealed to Prophet Muhammad and the most sacred month of the Islamic calendar.

Acknowledges that Muslims observe Ramadan through fasting, self-discipline, worship, charity, and Quran reading to improve patience, humility, and spirituality.

Notes that Michigan Muslims organize the Ramadan Fight Against Hunger to distribute food to disadvantaged populations and volunteer with humanitarian organizations.

Recognizes that southeast Michigan has one of the largest Muslim populations in the United States and that Muslims make meaningful contributions to the state.
