Notes that small businesses employ nearly half of Michigan's workers across more than 800,000 businesses and created 34,000 new jobs in 2014.

Recognizes that public policy decisions from multiple state agencies affect small businesses through regulations, economic development, education, infrastructure, public safety, and taxation policies.

Requests that a principal executive department coordinate policy, grantmaking, and minority business development to support small business growth in the state.

Directs transmission of the resolution to the Director of the Department of Talent and Economic Development.
