Calls on President Donald Trump to declare a major disaster for Michigan due to flash flooding that occurred on June 17, 2018 in Houghton, Gogebic, and Menominee Counties.

Flooding caused widespread damage to infrastructure, homes, businesses, and public facilities, creating threats to public health and safety through structural hazards and inaccessible roadways.

Governor Rick Snyder declared a state of disaster for the affected counties on June 18, 2018 (Houghton and Menominee) and June 21, 2018 (Gogebic County).

A joint Preliminary Damage Assessment by federal, state, and local leaders determined damage reached levels warranting federal aid, and Michigan formally requested supplementary federal assistance on July 9, 2018.

Directs that copies of the resolution be transmitted to the President of the United States and Michigan's congressional delegation.
