Modifies Michigan merit standard graduation requirements by allowing pupils to complete algebra II over 2 years (2 credits) or 1.5 years (1.5 credits) instead of requiring full completion in one timeframe.

Permits pupils to partially or fully satisfy algebra II requirement through department-approved career and technical education programs in fields such as electronics, machining, construction, welding, engineering, computer science, or renewable energy if the program covers algebra II benchmark content.

Allows pupils graduating in 2016-2024 to partially or fully fulfill 1 credit of the foreign language requirement by completing an approved career and technical education program or visual/performing arts instruction beyond standard requirements.

Requires school districts and public school academies to report annually to the department on the number of pupils fulfilling foreign language or arts requirements through career and technical education programs or visual/performing arts instruction.

Effective immediately upon approval by the Governor on June 26, 2018.
