Requires licensed individuals under the skilled trades act to present proof of licensure and government-issued photo identification when requested by building officials, inspectors, or employees of enforcing agencies acting in their official capacity.

Prohibits the department from issuing permanent licenses; all licenses issued under the act must have expiration dates established by departmental rules.

Specifies that a master electrician's license cannot be used to satisfy eligibility requirements for more than one electrical contractor's license.

Requires master electricians to complete an approved course on Michigan electrical code, electrical fundamentals, or electrical theory within 12 months of any state construction code update or change as a condition of license renewal.

Allows individuals licensed in other states to obtain Michigan sign specialty licenses without examination if the other state's standards meet or exceed Michigan's standards.
