Allows limited ambulance operations in counties with populations of 10,000 or less and population density fewer than 7 people per square mile to maintain ambulances at less than the limited level of licensure if authorized by the medical control authority and with approved local protocols in place.

Permits basic ambulance operations in counties with populations of 10,000 or less and population density fewer than 7 people per square mile to operate at the limited ambulance operation licensure level when staffed with an advanced EMT.

Requires basic ambulances operating at the limited level to be equipped at the greater licensure level and have medical control authority authorization and department-approved local protocols.

Takes effect immediately upon approval on December 19, 2018.
