Amends Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards Act to require active violence response training for law enforcement officers seeking licensure or currently licensed under sections 9, 9b, 9c, and 9d, effective January 1, 2020.

Training requirement emphasizes coordinated tactical response to rapidly developing incidents involving intentional physical injury or death using conventional or unconventional weapons and tactics.

Commission shall promulgate rules establishing minimum standards for active violence response training within 90 days of enactment.

Applies to all law enforcement officers including general officers, Michigan tribal law enforcement officers, fire arson investigators, and private college security officers.

Currently licensed officers must complete active violence response training by January 1, 2020; new licensure applicants must complete training before or during the licensing process.
