Department of Natural Resources shall administer a memorial program allowing families to scatter cremated remains in Michigan state parks while honoring the deceased's connection to that park.

Participating families may contribute through volunteerism or financial donations to the designated state park.

Department may enter partnership agreements that must include identification of memorial spaces, ash dispersal methods, and requirements to prevent negative environmental impact.

Partner agreements must address event permitting, volunteer scope of work and responsibilities, and financial contribution options including trail maintenance, playgrounds, invasive species prevention, tree replacement, or general park support.

Takes effect 90 days after enactment.
