Requires insurers to notify claimants or judgment creditors within 5 business days when making payments of $5,000 or more to attorneys or representatives in settlement of insurance claims issued in Michigan.

Notification must be sent via mail, email, or other electronic address provided by the claimant, unless the claimant has waived notice in writing, with copies sent simultaneously to the claimant's attorney or representative.

Mandates specific notice language including the payment amount, date sent, insurer name, attorney/representative contact information, and required text from Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.15(b) and (c).

Does not create a private cause of action for damages or establish a defense based on failure to provide notice or defective notice, and does not invalidate settlements.

Prohibits insurers from communicating directly with represented claimants or judgment creditors regarding settlement or judgment satisfaction without written consent from their attorney or representative.
