City clerks must deliver a list of candidates for city office to the county clerk within 3 days after the final candidate withdrawal deadline.

If a home rule city's legislative body falls below a quorum, the county board of election commissioners appoints members to reach a quorum, with successors elected at the next regular election date at least 60 days later.

Appointments to city offices made by an appointed quorum expire once enough elected members are chosen to constitute a quorum.

Local candidates must file nominating petitions by 4 p.m. on the fifteenth Tuesday before the general November election, with certification to the county clerk within 5 days.

Ballot question wording for political subdivisions must be certified to the county clerk by 4 p.m. on the twelfth Tuesday before the election, and petitions to place ballot questions must be filed at least 14 days before that certification deadline.
