MI SB1246

Amends Michigan's sentencing guidelines (MCL 777.11b) to add 20 new felonies to the offenses covered under Chapter XVII of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

Adds crimes related to state identification fraud, including false information on state ID applications (Class E, D, or C depending on offense number) with maximum sentences ranging from 5 to 15 years.

Adds crimes related to counterfeiting, forging, or misusing state ID cards with maximum sentences of 5 to 10 years depending on the underlying felony severity.

Adds public safety offenses including false statements on concealed pistol permits, firearm safety violations, false reports of threats or child abductions, sex offender registration failures, and fireworks safety violations with maximum sentences ranging from 2 to 15 years.

Takes effect 90 days after enactment but only if Senate Bill No. 1245 of the 99th Legislature is also enacted into law (tie-bar provision).
